Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is meant by a 'Mentoring
Session'?
A: The goal of the symposium is to provide an educational
environment for the attendees. A mentoring session consists of
a 15 - 20 minute demonstration of a specific technique by an
experienced turner followed by 45 minutes of hands-on training for
the attendees. The demonstrator will put the various tools
into YOUR hands and help you tryout a specific
NEW technique.
It is better to learn by doing rather than
just watching!!
Q: If I attend a specific mentoring
session, will I miss out on others?
A: NO! Each mentoring session is made up of two (2)
60-minute sessions. Therefore, you can watch one session and
then move onto another. In addition, many of the topics will
be repeated later in the day or the next day.
Q: Will there be a block of hotel
rooms available for Symposium attendees?
A: YES! Arrangements are
being made at a local hotel for discounted rooms. Please check
the 'Directions' page and this FAQ for information as arrangements
become available.
